The surface finish of the masterbatch can be used to judge the quality of the masterbatch. Due to raw materials, formulas, processing techniques, etc., part of the masterbatch is unevenly mixed and dispersed, and the surface is rough. In severe cases, serious stains will appear on the surface of the masterbatch.

During the production of the masterbatch, it was found that the surface of the masterbatch was not smooth. First, check whether the extrusion temperature is appropriate. If the extrusion temperature is too high or too low, the surface will become rough, so the extrusion temperature should be adjusted. If repeated adjustments are invalid, it may be caused by the following reasons:

1: If the pigment molecules are too hard, it will be difficult to disperse in the plastic, resulting in an uneven surface.

2: Whether the quality and amount of dispersant (low molecular weight polyethylene) are qualified. After low molecular weight polyethylene is mixed with paraffin wax or high density low molecular weight polyethylene, it will affect the dispersibility of the pigment.

3: Regardless of the method used, due to improper pigment wetting treatment, masterbatch products with good dispersibility and smooth surface cannot be obtained.
